The only preparation needed to fit an Essex flange is to drill or cut one round hole.

The flange can be fitted entirely from outside the cylinder or tank.

The compact construction, uniformity of contact and pressure when making
the joint, ensures a perfectly
water-tight connection.

Brass & Stainless Steel Flanges

Essex patented brass flanges have been the perfect connector for cylinders and closed tanks for over 50 years.

The popular Essex flange is the easiest and fastest method of making very sound tank and boiler connections for all sizes of pipe work and immersion heaters. There is no need to get at the job through the top cap in a tank or cylinder because connections using Essex flanges can be made in awkward places by cutting a hole and fitting from one side only without the need to remove the vessel.

Compression Flanges

In addition, we supply Essex compression flanges for fixing to any flat, curved or domed surface. These can be supplied with or without stop to allow the pipe to pass into the cylinder for assembling such products as power assisted showers.

Flanges with Metric Compression Fitting

For fixing to any flat, curved or domes surface. Supplied with compression fittings in metric sizes. These flanges have been designed to reduce even further time spent fitting new pipework, by eliminating the need for a coupler, and opportunity has been taken to convert to metric sizes.

Flanges with a compression fitting can be supplied without stops to enable the pipe to pass through into the cylinder or tank, thus creating a border mouthpiece which improves the flowrate.
